Taste and See: The best…

O God, who cause the minds of the faithful
to unite in a single purpose,
grant your people to love what you command
and to desire what you promise,
that, amid the uncertainties of this world,
our hearts may be fixed on that place
where true gladness is found.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Collect for the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

The place where true gladness is found often looks unattractive compared to the glitter and flash of this world. And yet, it lasts, is true, and brings us to life.

  • Where, when have you learned this to be true?
  • What are your points of weakness in holding to this truth?
