Taste and See: At one and for all

Show favour, O Lord, to your servants
and mercifully increase the gifts of your grace,
that, made fervent in hope, faith and charity,
they may be ever watchful in keeping your commands.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Collect for 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The greater gift that we can offer to Jesus is the gift of ourselves – and of ourselves attentive, responsive, cooperating, co-creating – thus allow the giftedness of ourselves to be at his service. We need to have something of Mary about us so that we can be something like Martha for others.

The Lord calls us to completion, and we learn that from him…
