Speak Lord: Love for us

May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you.

The word of the Lord is faithful
and all his works to be trusted.
The Lord loves justice and right
and fills the earth with his love.

May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you.

The Lord looks on those who revere him,
on those who hope in his love,
to rescue their souls from death,
to keep them alive in famine.

May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you.

Our soul is waiting for the Lord.
The Lord is our help and our shield.
May your love be upon us, O Lord,
as we place all our hope in you.

May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you.

Psalm 32:4-5,18-20,22

The Responsorial Psalm sung on the Second Sunday of Lent, as we hear of the Transfiguration and celebrate our call to communion with Christ, reminds us of the hope that is ours through the love and mercy of God.

In Lent we seek to remember all that would keep us from that love and mercy, and repent of it, and bring it to the Lord for his healing and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Sometimes we hold back from that Sacrament because of indifference or shame. Perhaps our readiness or not with regard to the Sacrament is a test of whether or not we really do place all our hope in the Lord.
